SAS, Norwegian, and Widerøe are the major airlines that fly directly to Tromsø during winter season. However, you’ll find many other great connections from European cities directly to Tromsø, like London, Milan, and Geneva. New direct routes from European cities

Your trip to Tromsø will be more available than ever with exciting new direct routes launching for this winter already.

British Airways will start its first-ever Tromsø service on December 1, 2024. The service will run twice weekly until March 27, 2025.

From Spain, directly between Madrid and Tromsø, you can fly with Iberica (from December) and between Barcelona and Tromsø (on Saturdays), with Vueling.

EasyJet plans to expand its Tromsø network by a lot with new routes from UK cities:

  • London Gatwick (Mondays and Fridays from November 11);
  • Manchester (Tuesdays and Saturdays from November 19th);
  • Bristol (Thursdays and Sundays from December 5th);
  • Paris-CDG;
  • Milan-Malpensa;
  • Geneva;
  • Amsterdam;
  • Berlin (Mondays and Fridays).

Other Airlines:

Norwegian Airlines will connect Manchester with twice-weekly flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays and SAS will launch seasonal flights between London Heathrow and Tromsø from November 2.

Dutch travelers can take Transavia’s twice-weekly services from Amsterdam on Mondays and Fridays.

These new routes add to the existing seasonal services by Norwegian from London Gatwick and Wizz Air from London Luton. Travelers now have direct access to this Arctic destination from European cities like never before.

Tromsø Airport (TOS) welcomes flights from three major airline alliances. Star Alliance, Oneworld, and SkyTeam connect this Arctic destination through 18 airlines that offer direct flights.

These main carriers provide direct flights to Tromsø:

  • SAS (Scandinavian Airlines): Daily flights connect Copenhagen and Oslo
  • Norwegian Air: Regular services run from major European hubs
  • Widerøe: The most frequent service provider with 203 weekly connections
  • Finnair: Daily flights operate from Helsinki

British travelers can choose from three daily direct flights to Tromsø. London leads the connection options with 13 weekly flights.

German travelers can book Eurowings flights at competitive rates regular winter schedules (primarily from November to March):

  • From Berlin: Eurowings offers flights, you can check their frequency directly via their website;
  • From Düsseldorf: Flights operate seasonally, starting in November and ending in March. Again, the exact frequency is not provided, but service is available throughout this period.
  • From Hamburg: Eurowings flies to Tromsø from December to March. The specific number of weekly flights is not mentioned.

From Stuttgart: A new route has been announced for the upcoming winter season. Flights will operate twice weekly, on Wednesdays and Sundays, from the end of January to mid-March 2025.

From Munich and Frankfurt: While Lufthansa (not Eurowings) operates these routes, they are worth mentioning as they also fly during the November to March period.

Finnair’s daily Helsinki service gives Finnish passengers direct access to Tromsø without stopping in Oslo.

Tromsø Airport’s convenient location puts you just 4 kilometers away from the city center. You can take the Airport Express that drives daily between Tromsø’s airport and the city center, stopping at strategic locations, close to the main hotels (including Moxy Hotel).
