Tromsø - The Arctic Gateway
Tromsø is the capital of the Arctic and is renowned for being one of the best places in the world to see the Northern Lights. This north Norwegian hub offers visitors easy access to unique and wonderful nature, an exciting range of cultural experiences and tourism adventures such as whale watching, dog sledding, snowmobiling and fjord cruises.

Explore the Lofoten islands
Why should you visit Lofoten? The reasons are virtually endless. Some claim that the Lofoten islands are the most beautiful place in Norway.
Located above the Arctic Circle, this archipelago has stunning mountains and Arctic fjords, mesmerizing islands and idyllic fishing villages.
Travel to magical Lofoten and experience this unique destination for yourself!
During the summertime, you can discover Lofoten by boat, car, bike or on foot. Try sailing, fishing, stand-up paddleboarding or swimming in the narrow fjords, like the famous Trollfjord. Most of the activities depart from the town of Svolvær and allow you to discover nearby gems like Henningsvær, Skrova and Litlmolla.
In the evenings, you can join a culinary dining cruise on a hybrid boat or, if you prefer, explore the area by comfortable minibus. All the trips provide an opportunity to learn about the fascinating history of the annual Lofoten fishery and stockfish production, which dates back around 1,000 years.

Explore Narvik
Narvik is situated in Nordland county and is a year-round destination. In the winter, Narvik offers dog sledding, skiing (at a spectacular ski resort), Northern Lights tours, Sami culture experiences, or the opportunity to meet the wildlife at Polar Park. This is the world’s northernmost wildlife park, where you can meet exotic animals such as wolves, lynx and Arctic foxes. In the summertime, you can catch a ride on the cable car to Narvikfjellet, or mountain hike and enjoy the majestic views of the fjords accompanied by the golden rays of the Midnight Sun on fine summer nights.
Narvik offers one of Norway’s most beautiful train journeys: the Ofoten Line, which starts in Narvik and takes you into the heart of Swedish Lapland. The Ofoten Railway is the reason why Narvik is a town. You can experience Narvik’s dramatic World War II history, including the infamous Battle of Narvik and the marks it left on this region, in the nature and at the Narvik War Museum.
Narvik is in the process of being certified as a Sustainable Destination. After visiting Narvik, you will travel home filled with Arctic impressions and memories for life!
Lyngen Area – The Arctic Alps
The majestic Lyngen Alps are a world-class nature paradise surrounded by spectacular fjords on both sides. This spectacular mountain range is known for its rugged appearance, steep ridges, glaciers, valleys and breathtaking scenery. The valleys and forests on the Lyngen peninsula are home to a rich and varied birdlife.
The highest mountain in Troms og Finnmark county, Jiehkkevarri (1,834 m above sea level) is in the Lyngen Alps. This is a popular area for hiking. The Lyngen region is known for the “meeting of three tribes” and its fascinating history combines the culture of the indigenous Sami, Kven and Norwegian people.
Add an extra dimension to your Lyngen experience with a dog sledding trip or snowmobile safari in winter or a dog carting adventure in the summer or autumn. You can also go on a guided tour and enjoy whisky tasting at the world’s northernmost whisky distillery.
